You Dont Have To Be So Strong All The Time

I know you think it’s your responsibility to always be ok. You feel like it’s your duty to stay ok. You don’t want anyone to worry. You don’t want anyone to pity you.

So, you bottle your worries away. You close that bottle up and toss it in the ocean. But the problem with that is, the bottle is always going to come back to you. These worries, this sadness, your feelings, will always come back. It all will come floating back.

But, you don’t have to be so strong all the time.

It doesn’t have to be this way. You’re just a person. You’re only human. It’s ok to be sad. It’s ok to not feel worthy. It’s ok to not have everything together now. It’s ok to be broken.

You’re allowed to break. You’re allowed to cry. You’re allowed to feel down. But, you have to allow yourself to feel this way. You have to allow yourself to let go of that fear. You have to eventually let go of that bottle.

Strength doesn’t come from hiding. And there is no strength that comes ignoring your true emotions. Strength comes from welcoming that emotion. Strength comes from being able to ask for help. And from being able to vocalize how you are struggling. Being strong isn’t closing up that bottle. Being strong is having the ability to let it all out. Even if it scares you.

There is no shame in struggling.

We all do. We just show it in different ways. There is no shame in your pain. We all have pain. And there is no shame in asking for help. Because, we all need help at times.

This world is too big for you to hold it on your shoulders. The world is too harsh for that. It’s time to stop pretending. It’s time for a release. For a break. For a breath.

You’re supposed to not be ok sometimes. You’re supposed to struggle. But, you’re not supposed to hide it from the world, and you aren’t supposed to hide it from yourself. Speak up. Raise your hand. Tell someone. Don’t keep it all to yourself. Don’t let it engulf you in it’s negativity. Don’t let it seep into your bones.

You are only human after all.

You don’t have to wear a smile on your face everyday. You don’t have to cover up the scars that haunt you everyday. You don’t have to battle this fight by yourself. And you shouldn’t. You don’t have to be so strong. You don’t have to be Hercules everyday. Sometimes, you need to have the strength to let others save you.
