Artist Left A Dress In The Dead Sea For 2 Months And The End Product Is Stunning

Back in 2014,Israeli artist Sigalit Landau, decided to stick a black dress in the Dead Sea and leave itsuspended there for twomonths.

She did it as aneight-part photo series called Salt Bride. Itwas inspired by S. Anskys 1916 play titled Dybbuk where a young Hasidic woman becomes possessed by the spirit of her dead lover – Landau’s dress is a replica of the dress worn in the 1920s dramatisation.

She visited the dress every-now-and-then over the two years and, well, the result is amazing…

You can see the exhibition in London’s Marlborough Contemporary until 3rd September.
